SMS Messaging Terms

1. What Messages You’ll Receive

GoldBird™ uses SMS messaging exclusively for authentication and security purposes. You will receive only two types of text messages from us:

  • Verification Codes: A one-time code sent when you log in or perform a sensitive action, confirming it’s really you.
  • Security Alerts: Notifications about unusual activity on your account, such as a login from a new device or location.

That’s it. No marketing messages. No newsletters. No promotions. No third-party advertisements. Ever.

2. Message Frequency

Message frequency depends on how often you log in and whether any security events occur:

  • 1—2 messages per login (verification code)
  • Security alerts are rare and sent only when unusual activity is detected
  • Typical total: 1—5 messages per month for most users

You will never receive more messages than your authentication and security activity requires.

3. How to Opt-In

You opt in to SMS messaging by providing your phone number during account setup or in your security settings and clicking "Send Code" to initiate verification.

By providing your phone number and requesting a verification code, you consent to receive authentication and security-related text messages at that number.

4. How to Opt-Out

You can stop receiving SMS messages at any time:

  • Reply STOP: Text STOP to any message from GoldBird to immediately unsubscribe.
  • Email Support: Contact support@goldbird.world and request SMS opt-out.
  • Update Settings: Remove your phone number from your account security settings.

Please note that opting out of SMS will disable two-factor authentication via text message. You may need to use an alternative authentication method to access your GoldCastle™.

5. How to Get Help

If you need assistance with SMS messaging:

  • Reply HELP: Text HELP to any message from GoldBird for immediate assistance information.
  • Email Support: Contact support@goldbird.world with any questions about SMS messaging.

6. Message & Data Rates

Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply to messages you receive from GoldBird. GoldBird does not charge any additional fees for SMS messages.

Contact your wireless carrier if you have questions about your messaging plan or rates.

7. Your Privacy

Your phone number is used exclusively for authentication and security purposes. Here is what that means:

  • Your phone number is never sold to third parties
  • Your phone number is never used for marketing
  • Your phone number is never shared with advertisers
  • SMS messages are processed through Twilio, our authentication service provider
  • Your phone number is stored in your self-sovereign GoldCastle™ — under your control

The GoldCastle™ architecture ensures that your phone number, like all your personal data, lives in your castle. It is not aggregated, profiled, or exploited.

8. Sample Messages

Here are examples of the messages you may receive:

Verification Code

Your GoldBird verification code is 847291. This code expires in 10 minutes. If you did not request this code, please ignore this message.

Security Alert

GoldBird Security Alert: A new device logged into your account from San Francisco, CA. If this wasn’t you, secure your account immediately at goldbird.world/security.
