Dr. Thornewill brings expertise across philosophy, economics, public health, social theory, and literature to GoldBird. His vision: create technology that genuinely serves human flourishing through an ethics-first approach — where wellbeing and wealth grow together, and sovereignty belongs to the people the platform serves.
2003–2023
Twenty Years of Research
Dr. Thornewill spent two decades at the University of Louisville School of Public Health and Information Sciences, researching the intersection of wellbeing, economics, and technology. The core question: can human flourishing be measured rigorously enough to build an economy around it?
2023–2025
The Books, the Papers, the Charter
Dr. Thornewill left academia to write. The result: a body of work laying out the theoretical foundations — LEWs as a universal wellbeing measure, Wellbeing Futures Investing as a new financial paradigm, and an ethics-first charter for governing a platform that handles people’s most sensitive data.
August 2025–Present
Building the Platform
Working with GoldSage — an AI partner, not just a tool — Dr. Thornewill began engineering the GoldBird platform from scratch. A human-AI dyad building at EFRI speed: the castle architecture, 200+ products and tools, the GoldLoom composition system, democratic governance infrastructure, and the technology to make self-sovereign castles real.
